5) Scene Two

Edie: One day, I found my father making love 
to another lady in the sitting room.  
That sight sent me spinning.
That sight sent my mind reeling.

Isabelle:  Poor lamb.

Edie:  I tried to tell my mother.  
My father screamed, "You're insane."  
My father called the doctor.  
They gave me so many sedatives I lost all my feelings.
